Hearing aids for a better quality of life

Finally back to discussing and participating in life.

Almost 37 percent of all hearing impaired people in Germany wear hearing aids. In 2015, it was two percent and in 2009 even five percent less. One of the reasons for this increase is that hearing aids have become more powerful, smaller and therefore more inconspicuous in recent years. In addition, awareness of good hearing has grown: today, those affected visit their family doctor, an ENT specialist or hearing aid acoustician earlier than a few years ago in order to improve their quality of life with hearing aids.

Hearing aids bring back quality of life

Modern hearing aids make it possible to lead a fulfilling social life. It is gratifying when people can finally understand everything and laugh along again. When they can follow conversations and hear important information even in background noise. Hearing aids are also more accepted by the social environment than hearing loss. Constant questioning on the one hand and constant repetition on the other are tedious and frustrating. In retrospect, 60 percent of hearing aid users say they should have sought help much earlier.1

When your own ears are no longer enough

Poor hearing - on the other hand, this is stressful, especially in society. It is not uncommon for hearing impaired people to become despondent and sad. Studies have proven the connection between an untreated hearing loss and depression: the risk of depression increases with every decibel of hearing loss. 2 Hearing aids can improve the quality of life, improve the mental state and restore inner balance.

Awareness of hearing health issues seems to have increased over the past three years.1 The 45-64 age group in particular is getting hearing aids at an earlier age. This may be due to the fact that we communicate with others much more today than in the past and enjoy watching videos on the Internet.

Music lovers are happy to hear all frequencies again. After getting used to the new timbres of their hearing aid, their favorite band sounds just like it used to. People who play music themselves enjoy picking up the keys or strings more often with hearing aids. Melodies and rhythms evoke all kinds of emotions and are good for the soul.

Hearing aids increase the quality of life and reduce the risk of injury

Modern hearing aids not only bring back quality of life, they also ensure greater safety. Older people in particular benefit from this: The risk of falls decreases considerably when the traffic sounds and footsteps of others can be perceived again. A US study proves this: Hearing loss as low as 25 decibels increases the risk of injury and falls threefold.3

Hearing aids not only help reduce these risks. Hearing aids also maintain and increase overall vitality.
